PROJECT LAUCNHING MEETING in Grasping for Future 08-seminar “Will we challenge the future or will the future challenge us?” This is what Dr Henno Theisens from Center for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI / OECD) asked the audience in Grasping the Future 08 pre-event seminar in Helsinki (2.4.2008). From our point of view, we have already started to challenge the future. In October 1.-3.2008 FNBE and OECD arrange the Schooling for Tomorrow ending seminars in Helsinki (see invitation). In this Grasping for Future 08 -seminar approximately 500 decisions makers of education all over the world will together talk about the future learning and its possibilities. In that same seminar our Forum for the Future –project will be introduced as an exemplary school oriented project (part of the official program). We shall launch officially our project during this SfT-seminar. We hope to meet there as many representatives as possible from every participating country, both teachers and administrations. During these meetings we shall discuss main topics and working methods in this future learning environment project. We will send you preliminary proposals before summer so that you have plenty of time to give comments and suggestions. Participation is not necessary, only recommendable. In the seminar we will set up a workshop and invite teachers and students from all over the Europe to both study and participate in that seminar. Our 60 m2 future oriented learning environment with school furniture’s and interactive whiteboards will be located in hall C (see the map). In this workshop students of Finland, Spain and Portugal are studying together during the seminar. Let’s challenge the future together!
